My wife was back on the Isle of Wight recently and, with time to kill before the return ferry, she and some friends paid a visit to Little Duxmore Farm, Havenstreet, to have a look at the competition hedge, now that it has regrown.

It wasn’t long before they found the section that I had laid and they were very impressed with the regrowth, sending me this short video of my winning hedge.

The amount of regrowth on the whole hedge was very substantial and given that it is only 4 months since the competition, it just shows how quick a hedge can rejuvenate with the right management.

So, all in all a great success, not just for the Wildlife Trust who own the site, but also the competitors and the Isle of Wight Hedgerow Group who run the competition. Long may it continue!
